I was looking for number of theatres and screens you track.

I've already gone to bed; you can wait 'till tomorrow.

(I gave that info to @VenomXXR a few days ago - he might be able to find the post and quote it)

I’m pretty sure that the wheelchair space includes the seat next to it. That’s why you see the wheelchair space available but the seat next to it showing as sold.

They're two different "seats", they can be sold together but the companion seats aren't supposed to be sold separately while the wheelchair spaces can be.

Both account for 5-6% of seats at my local (and around that for many theaters in NYC) which is why it's difficult to get a complete sellout

It will also be counted toward the ratio if it was playing in more theaters locally.

So, for tracking, my entire metro area pulled any previous planned Friday showings for other movies on Endgame opening weekend...right now, it's Endgame only for everything.  I think every theater is gonna hold sets til after this weekend, and see if any movie is getting Friday night showings except Endgame.  Now, Thursday night still has a few scattered showings listed for this weekend's openers across the metro...we'll see if those also get pulled Monday:)...

I wonder what the upper limit is for this. I know POTUS and Charlie both think ¥150m is doable.

This is actually interesting and I'd like to rope in a few folks here ( @DAJK @Deep Wang @Ledmonkey96).

How many tickets, roughly, would a special showing like a 2am or 3am have to sell for it to be 'worth it'. Either by percentage or by raw number.

NOTE:  I realize it's very likely you'll say "it's never worth it ", but you know what I mean. ;)  Basically at what point would it go from "theater is losing money by having a 3am showing" versus "breaking even" versus "yeah, it was worth it".  Roping in expected concession sales as well.

I ask because while the 2am showings at Arden are doing pretty brisk business (over 50% sold on both showings [157/260 tickets sold at the XD 2am showing | 87/160 tickets sold at the normal sized 2:20a showing]) the 3am ones aren't quite as stellar yet:

2:50a (3D): 28/110 tickets sold

3:20a (2D): 13/110 tickets sold

3:50a (2D): 14/161 tickets sold

Kinda curious to see just how much they do end up selling and what would be a threshold for a theater manager thinking "Yeah, it was worth it"

SECOND NOTE:  I realize this is a little difficult without payroll info and the like.  Still, general idea might be doable.

Heh, that is a good question!

I worked at 5 different theaters and only one of them did well with late shows(but still not close to around-the-clock).  But every time we attempted them, we wouldn't keep a full staff the entire time, we would know how many tickets we've sold and cut accordingly.

The worst part is anticipating the late show sell out. You NEVER want to end on a sell out.  However, if you don't think something will sell out and don't add a later show at the right time, then you screwed yourself because you post it after everyone has looked and you didn't have one.  So that late show only sells like 8 tickets instead of like 50-60 or whatever.

Teen Spirit is expanding to 680 theaters this weekend. Expect that theater count to get sliced in half if not more next week when it flops and theaters have to make way for as many Endgame screens as possible (Bleecker Street doesn't have a 2 week contract like all the top studios do).
