There's probably a logical explanation for it that is too complicated to articulate, but bottom line is Frozen was lightning in a bottle. Moana's performance was about the baseline expectation for WDA movies, only inflated at the time of its release because it was the next princess movie after Frozen.

But it definitely has had an ancillary life pretty close to comparable with Frozen.

For what it's worth, from the time of its release to about February of this year, Moana (in blue) had more google searches in the United States than did Frozen (in yellow). Zootopia (in red) included for comparison purposes.

  2. Just for fun, this list re-orders the top 100 by the average number of points received per list. You can see that some films didn't appear on many lists but were generally very highly placed by those that did, and conversely that there were some films that made the top 100 merely on the strength of appearing on most lists.

Of course, there were also many films that were both generally highly placed and appeared on most lists.

I think I told you the biggest fault of Trudeau is that he does abide to the rhetoric he preaches and the chickens have come to roost.

Imo it shows to the Prime Minister was a spoiled rich white kid who lacks a lot of awareness and common sense who likely would not amount to much if he was not the son of a former Prime Minister. The fact he thought blackface is okay in 2001 is the same kind of crap that many of his supporters call out rich spoiled dumb rich kids for all the time, but they cant see that as they would be scoring an own goal on themselves..Its rather clear the Liberals need a grown up in charge.

You do forget Justin Trudeau has embraced the idea of woke culture that pretty much engages in cancel culture and calling out things from 10-20 years ago ...He was doing it all week against the Conservatives...

Remember his own words " there is no past or any context that does not allow you take responsibility of what you have done"

Its a classic example of live by virtue signaling...you die by it...

I know you are pissed, but i find it amusing you are calling out the media as fake news when you always defend them lol

Let's be clear, I still think social media is a lot worse than mainstream media. I also don't think the world is black-and-white. I'll defend the media when it's warranted to do so, and I'll complain when it's warranted to do so.

I haven't forgotten and obviously don't agree with the Liberals bringing up that old crap against the Conservatives and I actually happen to have a receipt for that one. First thing I said when the scandal broke:

Exactly. It's not the act that necessarily disgusts me. It's the hypocrisy. JT and all his leftist and liberal followers would be all over someone else if they did that. What I eagerly await is his and the people's response.

This is bullshit. I don't even like Justin Trudeau much, for what I think are much more important reasons. But the none of the progressive and liberal people I know - and it's a lot, nearly everyone I know -gave a shit about Scheer's stuff from 2005. It's what he and his party says and does now that matters.

I don't know and don't care what bullshit shows up on social media. It's always the most rabid opinions that get the most attention there, not what most people actually think. That's too boring.

Yeah man I am so annoyed at cancel culture and the sjw just dig their heads in the sand when its a guy on their own team.

How about we just stop trying to mess up people's current future digging up stuff from 20-30 years ago.

The really progressive people I know that you would probably call "sjw" don't care about that kind of stuff from 20 years ago, not from anyone. If it's not illegal and wasn't hurting or intending to hurt someone, it doesn't matter if it's that old. Times change, people change.

Literally everyone I know from every background and political stripe thinks this kind of stuff is bullshit and needs to stop. If the worst stuff you can find on someone is from ~20 years ago or more, that's practically an endorsement.

There are so many more important things to discuss.

Want to talk about Trudeau is a hypocrite on the environment? Sure. On his high-minded talk about the rule of law? Sure. On breaking his promise on electoral reform. Definitely.

The fact this is the biggest damn story right now is garbage. I know multiple people - Liberal, Conservative, young (my age), old - who said more or less that the media needs to get a life.

I'm saying that there are people who actually say that there are 100 films from the 1970s that they have seen that are better than jaws and Star Wars.

It's possible to submit a list much shorter than 100 films (minimum is 10). So maybe the people who excluded Star Wars and Jaws didn't actually imply that there are 100 films from the 70s they have seen that are better.

Am I not understand this correctly? You're saying that no film has appeared on all six lists? So you are telling me that somebody has actually kept Star Wars and Jaws off of their list? How can you be a fan of films and not have those films listed in your top 100?

You are indeed understanding it correctly. There's a reason why I felt compelled to post the stats so early.

This is what happens when everyone suddenly finds out that your D23 Exclusive $149 Three-Year-Subscription to Disney+ is now available for everyone.  And no, you don't need to pay the $100 year membership fee.  Even general members.

It's a STEAL if anyone's thinking about getting Disney+.  Works out to about $3.50 a month.

I *don't* know if it works with the Hulu/ESPN+ package.  But for me, its a very simple cancel Netflix and add that to the existing Hulu package solution.

Deal ends 9/2 for those thinking about it.

    Discord is for weirdos though.

Nah, it's pretty mainstream now, at least for young people. Nearly all the high school students I tutor have it installed on their phones/computers.

Even a couple years ago I'd say it would be a big stretch to say it was for "weirdos" - even fairly casual gamers who never got into Teamspeak picked up Discord.

Things get more complicated as we have had some users catfishing as females (likely out of a want to be desired idk) and acting overly crazy or sexual and causing a ton of drama on the discord chat

Yep, that happened at least twice (allegedly) in the teamspeak I admin'd. One time it caused hella drama because the person got caught (allegedly) only when they didn't have their voice mod turned on (allegedly), and only one other person heard it, so the guild actually got split into a "OMG, X is a dude!" camp and the "you guys are so mean X is a girl!" camp. Half the guild actually left over it.

To this day I'm still not completely sure what the truth was because I told everyone that it was a guild internal matter (which it was, confined to guild channels only) and I wasn't getting involved. (thank god I didn't have to)

The other time it happened it was confirmed, less drama though because it hadn't been going on for long.

    @Jason

Yeah, I've seen that too from my experience with Teamspeak and (to a lesser degree) Discord. Don't think it's entirely out of trying to be liked, I think in voice comms there's at least a bit of social pressure/norms at work.
