I lost interest when I learned that the movie only covers the main charecters as kids. That rips the heart and meaning out of the novel.

And I am skeptical of how this does at the box office.given the record of Stephan King adaptations. For every one that makes money, threr are two that flop.

This is making money. There is obviously loads of hype around it. More of a question of how much

This is apparently only the first part.  They'll probably make part 2 with the characters as adults.

Plus it'd be really complicated if it were interwoven with them as adults and kids.  It'd probably be upwards of 4 hours long.

You realize the book is like 1,000 pages long, right? 2 movies is the way to go honestly, otherwise we'd end up with an extremely overly-long movie, or something like the mini-series that just couldn't cover as much as it should have.

Yeah, I was a little underwhelmed with the newest trailer. Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited for this film. I blame the studio for waiting so damn long to release the trailer after Comic-Con. It honestly made me raise my expectations too high.

With nothing there now (except UNLOCKED, likely a very small release) WB should move this up to September 1. Looking at the top grossing Labor Day weekends? The list is littered with horror films. It also gives it a little more breathing room before KINGSMAN: THE GOLDEN CIRCLE hits.
