So Warner Brothers acquired new line cinemas in 2008. So I'm assuming anything before 2008 done by new line will not count towards this list?

Precisely. No Lord of the Rings, no Austin Powers, and so on.

Dead Poets Society isn't on the list on the first post, but Wiki says that WB was the international distributor.

Can I vote for it @I Am Eric?

I completely missed that in my research, but the BBFC says it's a WB joint, so I'm going to say yes.

Thanks, and how about The Dresser (1983)? WB is listed as a co-distributor on Wiki.

FYC The 1960s

A perfect combination of melodrama and teen angst. It's the tragedy of growing up and the horror of parents putting too much pressure on their children and how they force things for them to do against their will. And this is all thanks to Elia Kazan's wonderful direction, a great romance, and an incredible ensemble cast. Barbara Loden is the stand out here, but this also was the acting debut of Warren Beatty. Pretty cool to see a legend like him at the start and carry the screen.

If you're a human being, you have likely either been forced to watch your community theater production of the show or were in your middle school's version of the show. I've done both. In fact, a family member of mine was in the 2000 Broadway revival. So I know this show very well, and I've frankly grown sick of it. But this movie reminds you why it's endured for so long. Just so poppy and vibrant and fun, with banger track after banger track. And it's all thanks to Robert Preston, who frankly is Harold Hill, as well as the strong direction of Morton DaCosta, both in the musical numbers and in the talky bits. It made me fall in love with the show all over again and I did not expect that to happen.

People today know this movie more for the actor feuds than the movie itself, which is unfair. It's campy, but full of suspense, great direction, and a legit compelling story about sibling rivalry and the obsession of fame and yearning for love and affection. It's also got two of the greatest actresses of all time delivering powerhouse performances. It's definitely a film that deserves a stronger reputation than what it has right now.

A rare non-comedy from Blake Edwards, this is an utterly terrifying look at the evils of alcoholism. How it can destroy relationships, how it can destroy people, how folks can easily get themselves roped into it, and how hard it is to break free from its curses. Both Jack Lemmon and Lee Remick are fantastic and the film's unnerving nature has a way of getting you under your skin while still motivated and rooting for this once happy couple to break free from the evil of alcohol. It's a wonderful, wonderful film.

Speaking of Blake Edwards, this is one of the funniest movies I've ever seen. It's a deliciously funny tribute to silent comedies and Looney Tunes cartoons, with an incredible trio of Jack Lemmon, Tony Curtis, and Natalie Wood. While Jack Lemmon is the stand out with his moustache twiriling and top hat, the "heroes" are also delightfully batty and screwy, only adding to the wackiness.

But above all else, I love the scale. This is basically the Lawrence of Arabia of comedies, with massive sets, multiple locations, and gigantic set pieces that put in dazzling special effects and incredible blocking and timing. Every dollar on its massive budget is spent well here and I love every second of it. If you love Airplane-style wackiness, you can't miss this.

AFIMC22_THE-WILD-BUNCH-%E2%80%93-279X-4.

Great cast, incredible action, pure carnage. With its insights on aging outlaws, it's a fascinating treatise on the impacts of war, melancholically looking at how war causes nothing but mayhem and there's nothing we can do to change it. It's tough and its ultra violence won't be for everybody, but I got a real kick out of this one.

There's only two and a half weeks left before you can submit your list. That may seem like a lot, but it will fly by. So get your lists in sooner rather than later. And if you haven't PMed me your list but shared it here, please PM it now.

I already finished making my top 100, but I might see a few films until the deadline so I'll wait until then. I did include another two films not on the original post that I think should qualify, Tess (1979) and Hope And Glory (1987).

Maybe you should have made the eligibility list at this point

I only looked for films I wanted to put on the list, I can't imagine how much time it would take looking for every every WB film.

We are now officially one month away from the WB countdown submission period. And while we have a decent amount so far, at about 11, we still need tons more to really make this list an exciting one. Your votes still matter, as just one placement can cause a film to go from #84 to #58 just like that. So please try to submit before it's too late.
