BOT's Top 100 *Animated* Films of All Time - deadline October 7, 2024

I know we just had a countdown of all movies, but these things take people months to compile, and we haven't had an animated movie countdown since 2021.

 

Rules for ballots:

 

• All movies must be animated and over 40 minutes long
• for movies released in 2001 and later: the definition of "animated" is if it was submitted for the Best Animated Feature Oscar or not. Not to say that they're the only movies from these years elible, but Avatar (2009) is ineligible because it was not submitted as such. And movies like Monster House (2006), which might be ineligible with current Academy rules, are counted. Ultimately the intention of the filmmaker counts here.
• For movies released year 2000 and before, the movie just must be demonstrably over 50% animated. I'm just going to disqualify Who Framed Roger Rabbit (1988) because I view it as a movie that uses animation as a special effect rather than being fully animated.
• Movies released in 2024 are eligible if they debuted on or before August 16, 2024. I want to be inclusive but I don't want to make it a rush for some movies that will release right before the deadline.
• Include the title and release year of each movie on the ballot.

• No cheating: Users suspected of being alts of other users will be reported. This has happened with some lists in the past.
• EDIT: I will not accept revisions to ballots, starting now. I know this is hypocritical of me, because I've edited my own ballots for other lists. but I'm not certain enough in my spreadsheet abilities to be sure I can accomidate lengthy revisions.
• EDIT: Direct to video animated movies are eligible

 

How Lists are Scored:

(copied from @The Panda's system because I admire how it only slightly penalizes shorter lists.

For lists containing 100 movies: 

#1: 10 points

#2-5: 9 points

#6-10: 8 points

#11-15: 6 points

#16-25: 5 points

#26-35: 4 points

#36-50: 3 points

#51-75: 2 points

#76-100: 1 point

 

For lists containing 50-99 movies:

#1: 10 points

#2-5: 9 points

#6-10: 8 points

#11-15: 5 points

#16-20: 4 points

#21-30: 3 points

#31-40: 2 points

#41+: 1 point

 

For lists containing less than 50 movies:

#1: 10 points

#2-5: 9 points

#6-10: 8 points

#11-15: 4 points

#16-25: 2 poitns

#25+: 1 point
